China Steel Investment Still High, Association’s Zhang Says

SHANGHAI, Apr 7 (SMM) - According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), key steel enterprises produced 23.76 million mt of crude steel, 20.45 million mt of pig iron and 23.28 million mt of finished steel in the last 10 days of March.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced that in 2021, China’s 145 million mt of steel production capacity completed the ultra-low emission transformation of the whole process.

The operating rates across 34 EAF mills of construction steel stood at 54.58% as of December 28, a gain of 0.68 percentage point from the previous week.
