Ukraine Jan-Oct Alumina Exports 8.5% Up On Year At 1.274M Tons

MOSCOW, Dec 05, 2011 (Dow Jones) -- Ukraine exported in January-October 1.274 million metric tons of alumina, 8.5% more than in the corresponding period in 2010, the government reported Monday.

The exported alumina was worth $419.78 million.

Alumina exports in October totaled 127,042 tons, 4.5% more than in September this year and 14% more than in October 2010. The alumina exported in October was worth $46.8 million, 12.8% more than in September this year. Most alumina was exported to Russia.

In 2010 Ukraine exported 1.44 million tons of alumina, 3.2% more than in 2009.

Alumina in Ukraine is produced by the Mykolaev Alumina Plant and the Zaporozhye Aluminum Combine, both belonging to UC Rusal.
