DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightLONDON, Nov 16, 2011 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- The global zinc market was in surplus by 581,000 metric tons in the first nine months of 2011, the World Bureau of Metal Statistics said Wednesday.
This compares with a surplus of 424,000 tons in the whole of the previous year, it said.
The WBMS said refined production rose 4.3%, while consumption rose a more modest 0.6% compared with the year-earlier period.
Japanese demand, at 373,000 tons, was down 3.7% on the first nine months of 2010, it said.
