LME zinc prices overnight plummeted to USD 2,100/mt level.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 21 (SMM)--LME zinc prices overnight plummeted to USD 2,100/mt level. IMF said the Euro zone and the US may experience a recession in 2012 if policy makers fail to resolve the economic and financial crisis. As a result, LME zinc prices fell to close at USD 2,083/mt, down USD 28/mt. SHFE 1111 zinc contract prices should open lower today, fluctuating between RMB 16,150-16,450/mt, with discounts between negative RMB 50-100/mt. Downstream buying interest may improve due to lower prices.
