SMM Zinc Market Morning Review (2015-10-22)

LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,773/mt on Wednesday, then plunged to USD 1,717/mt, and closed at USD 1,725/mt, down USD 48.5/mt.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 22 (SMM) – LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,773/mt on Wednesday, then plunged to USD 1,717/mt, and closed at USD 1,725/mt, down USD 48.5/mt. Trading volumes were up 1,982 to 10,644 lots, and total positions decreased 1,214 to 289,247.

SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 14,150/mt Wednesday evening, and fell to as low as RMB 13,840/mt and closed at RMB 13,840/mt. Total positions were 163,000.

LME zinc prices are expected to move between USD 1,710-1,740/mt today. SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices will hover between RMB 13,850-14,050/mt, with spot prices RMB 140-200/mt above SHFE 1512 zinc contract prices.
