NEW YORK, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil fell on Tuesday as concerns about a global economic slowdown weighed on the markets.

Light, sweet crude for October delivery fell 43 cents, or 0.50 percent to settle at 86.02 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. But in London, Brent crude for October delivery surged due to the continuing uncertainty in Libya, and last traded around 113 dollars a barrel.
