DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightLONDON, Aug 23, 2011 (Dow Jones) -- The global refined zinc market was in surplus by 223,000 metric tons in the first six months of 2011, the International Lead and Zinc Study Group said Tuesday.
The gap was greater than the 185,000-ton surplus in same period of 2010.
In January to June, total production reached 6.451 million tons of refined zinc, while consumption was recorded at 6.228 million tons, it said.
The refined zinc market was in a 67,000-ton surplus in the Western world during the period, with output of 3.447 million tons and demand of 3.380 million tons.
