LME zinc prices overnight edged up during Asian trading hours, with prices touching the intraday high USD 2,161/mt in the afternoon.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 10 (SMM)--LME zinc prices overnight edged up during Asian trading hours, with prices touching the intraday high USD 2,161/mt in the afternoon. Weighed down by the US dollar index, LME zinc prices fell to USD 2,110/mt. The US Federal Reserve announced it will maintain interest rates unchanged until 2013, holding LME zinc prices between USD 2,110-2,140/mt, with prices closing at USD 2,142/mt, up USD 52/mt. SHFE three-month zinc contract prices are expected to open high and moved higher, fluctuating between RMB 16,150-16,450/mt, and spot discounts will expand to negative RMB 250-350/mt.
