SHANGHAI, Nov. 5 (CBI China) – Lead-zinc mines in many areas, such as North China, South China, and Southwest China had stopped production because of security reform and environmental protection. According to CBI sources, 28 small and medium-sized enterprises dealing lead-zinc concentrate dressing were ordered to close in just one Qi(administrative region) of the Western Inner Mongolia. At present, only 3 to 5 large lead-zinc mines still remain production, but sales worsened much. Such situation was partially due to production cut at lead and zinc smelters leading to decrease in raw material procurement, and partially due to negotiation of TC/RC of lead and zinc concentrate, TC of zinc concentrate in particular, failed to come to an agreement. A head of local large-scale lead-zinc concentrate dressing company said although current situation is not good at factory, they will not choose to cut production temporarily, and monthly output in October still in inventory.
