Weekly Review and Forecast on China EMM Market

SHANGHAI, Mar. 4 (SMM) -- Supply and demand is expected to stagnate next week, and prices of EMM will be stable around RMB 19,500/mt.

According to SMM sources, operating rates at EMM producers were negatively affected by ore supply restriction, which is particular serious at EMM producers in Xiangxi of Hunan province. Downstream stainless steel mills have replenished stocks for March production in late February. It is expected that demand will only recover from mid-March. In this context, EMM prices are expected to be stable in the following week.

The domestic output of EMM will be 23,000 mt in March, up 155% month-on-month and 78.3% year-on-year, according to SMM estimate.
