Weekly Review and Forecast on China EMM Market

SHANGHAI, Feb. 25 (SMM) -- Upward momentum of EMM prices may weaken under the context of gradual ample supply, higher operating rates and weak downstream demand. However, high costs and relatively low operating rates still will prevent EMM prices from slipping. In this context, SMM believes that EMM prices will move around RMB 20,000/mt in the following week.

The average spot prices of EMM in main producing areas fell by 500 yuan/mt to 15,000-17,300 yuan/mt compared with the average prices before the Qingming festival, and the average prices of FOB fell by $100/mt to $2,500-2,800/mt.
