SHANGHAI, Sep. 15 (SMM) —

The output of China semi-finished copper products was 0.919 million mt in August, falling further from July, down 0.5% on a monthly basis.

The output of China semi-finished copper products suffered a significant decline in August in Jiangsu and Zhejiang province. SMM believes that restrictions in electricity supplies in these two provinces and the low demand period were to blame. It is expected that orders in terminal consumption will flow to other regions after a time due to electricity restrictions conducted in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Besides, a recent SMM survey reveals that copper consumption shows a rising momentum. Thus, SMM expects that output for semi-finished copper products will rally in September under a situation of higher copper consumption.
