MUMBAI, Aug. 24 -- London-based Vedanta Resources (VED.L: Quote) said on Tuesday there has been no regulatory violations of any kind at the Lanjigarh Alumina refinery in the eastern Indian state of Orissa.

Earlier on Tuesday, India rejected a plan by India-focused mining group Vedanta Resources to mine bauxite in Orissa. Vedanta's alumina refinery runs on bauxite imported from elsewhere in India which keeps the firm's operating costs high. [ID:nSGE67N06M].

The company said the Orissa government is considering allocating an alternate source of bauxite for the firm from the state.
