Russia 2010 Stainless Steel Consumption To Rise 25% - Group

MOSCOW, June 17 -- Russia's stainless steel consumption this year is likely to reach 240,000 metric tons, 25% more than in 2009, the national association of special steel producers, Spetsstal, said Wednesday.

Spetsstal said consumption of stainless steel products in Russia in the first quarter increased 63.7% on the year to 58,300 tons.

According to Spetsstal, there are many new projects being developed in the Russian oil and gas industry requiring increasing amounts of stainless steel products.
