Ferrous metals prices weakened again last week. When coupled with the sluggish performance of the real estate industry, dealers were reluctant to restock more inventory and reduced purchases. Galvanised pipe companies were under greater pressure of finished products, and reduced production. In terms of galvanised structural parts, although the operating rates of galvanised steel tower enterprises increased, the overall improvement was limited as profits shrank due to lower processing fees. It is expected that after the ferrous metals prices rebound this week, some enterprises will resume normal production, and the operating rates of galvanising plants may improve slightly.
