Base Metals to Continue Diverging, SMM Says

Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to continue diverging on Thursday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

SHANGHAI, Oct. 13 (SMM) – Base metal prices on the SHFE are expected to continue diverging on Thursday, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

“Rising strength of the dollar is expected to be small, and this will ease pressures on base metal prices, but price divergence is estimated to be continuing,” SMM says. 

Copper: 37,850-38,050 yuan per tonne
Aluminum: 12,650-12,780 yuan per tonne
Lead: 15,500-15,700 yuan per tonne
Zinc: 17,750-17,950 yuan per tonne
Tin: 128,000-129,500 yuan per tonne
Nickel: 81,800-83,500 yuan per tonne
