On November 1st, the 20-megawatt new energy storage system demonstration project (hereinafter referred to as the "new energy storage system demonstration project") of Guangdong Energy Group was put into operation. This project is the first "lithium battery + supercapacitor" combined frequency modulation project in Guangdong Province and has been included in the National Key Research and Development Program "Energy Storage and Smart Grid Technology" Key Special Project.

The new energy storage system demonstration project is located in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. By innovatively adopting the "16MW/8MWh lithium iron phosphate battery" and the largest domestic "4MW×10min supercapacitor" combination of new energy storage technology, the flexibility of coal-fired unit regulation is effectively improved, and multiple benefits such as energy saving, low carbon and environmental protection are significantly improved. The project entered commercial trial operation on October 2 this year, effectively promoting the comprehensive performance index of coal-fired unit frequency modulation to a large extent, and the performance ranked among the top of the same type of coal-fired units in China.
