According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China’s automobile production and sales were 2.13 million units and 2.16 million units respectively in April, down 17.5% and 11.9% month-on-month, but up 76.8% and 82.7% year-on-year. During January-April, automobile output and sales stood at 8.36 million units and 8.24 million units, respectively, up 8.6% and 7.1% year on year.
The output and sales of NEVs totalled 640,000 units and 636,000 units respectively in April, up 1.1-fold year-on-year, with a market share of 29.5%. The output and sales of NEVs totalled 2.29 million units and 2.22 million units respectively in the first four months of 2023, up 42.8% year-on-year, with a market share of 27%.
