Due to the sharp fluctuations in silver prices since the second half of last year, there have been several export ratio arbitrage opportunities with widening internal and external price spreads, and most domestic manufacturers with export quotas have participated in increasing the scale of production of export silver ingots. Although the export ratio returned at the beginning of this year, there were also several very short-term arbitrage opportunities, so the operating rate of smelters with export quotas was higher than that of other smelters. Therefore, the competition for silver-containing materials, including anode mud, has become more and more intense, and small and medium-sized smelters have not been able to purchase silver-containing materials or the stock of silver-containing materials is not enough to open the furnace, which has also led to the production reduction and suspension of some manufacturers. In addition, during the Spring Festival in February, some manufacturers such as Yunxi and Gejiu Lianxing took the opportunity to overhaul. It is expected that in March, due to the fresh production of silver produced by manufacturers with export quotas for export, coupled with the resumption of production by some manufacturers, the national silver production is likely to increase.
