SMM11: gold miner AngloGold Ashanti has voluntarily suspended its Cerro Vanguardia mine in Argentina for 10 days after its employee novel coronavirus tested positive for 10 days and will resume operations on November 20.
Accordingly, the incident may reduce gold production by 8000 ounces. The company has a gold production target of 303-3.1 million ounces this year.
No confirmed case of novel coronavirus has been reported in other mines of the company.
