1. Import of stainless Steel in China

China's stainless steel imports rose 87.85 per cent to 70400 tons in May, according to customs data. Imports of plates and rolls increased by 12.12 per cent to 27900 tons and pipe imports by 27.80 per cent to 5600 tons. Imports from January to May also decreased by 38.85 per cent to 569300 tons, of which imports of plates and rolls decreased by 32.83 per cent to 367400 tons.

two。 Export of stainless Steel in China

China's stainless steel exports rose 6.86 per cent in May from a month earlier, down 56.43 per cent from a year earlier to 319100 tons, with coil exports down 31.3 per cent to 203400 tons, mainly due to Indonesia's exports to other countries. Stainless steel exports from January to May decreased by 21.76 per cent to 1.4148 million tons compared with the same period last year.

3. China's net export of stainless steel

In May 2019, net exports of stainless steel increased by 3 per cent year-on-year to 248700 tons, while from January to May 2019, net exports of stainless steel fell by 3.62 per cent from a year earlier to 845500 tons, which was squeezed out by Indonesia to other countries.

4. Import of stainless steel from Indonesia

In May 2019, Indonesian stainless steel imports increased by 500 per cent to 4200 tons. Mainly stainless steel semi-products, of which rectangular section (except square) stainless steel semi-products and other stainless steel semi-finished products accounted for 77.82%. Indonesia's stainless steel imports fell by 284800 tons from January to May 2019 (637000 tons from January to May 2018).
