Copper Scrap Rod Consumption Weakened As Price Spread Between Copper Cathode Rod and Copper Rod Produced With Copper Scrap Remained Below Advantage Level

As of Friday, copper rod produced with copper scrap in Jiangxi was quoted with a premium of 140 yuan/mt against SHFE front-month copper contract prices.

Electric copper rod in east China was quoted with premiums of 760 yuan/mt over the contract, with a price spread of 620 yuan/mt between copper cathode rod and copper rod produced with copper scrap.

Last week, premiums of copper rod produced with copper scrap in Jiangxi reached as high as 230 yuan/mt against SHFE front-month copper contract prices. The price spread between copper cathode rod and copper rod produced with copper scrap remained below the advantage level, which weakened copper scrap rod consumption.
