BRUSSELS (Scrap Monster): Major stainless steel producers in Europe have announced hike in stainless steel surcharge for the month of June this year. Those who announced rise in surcharges include major producers such as Outokumpu, Aperam and Acciai Speciali Terni.
As per reports, Outokumpu has raised its alloy surcharges for 304 grade stainless steel flat-rolled for June by €5/ton from the month ago. After adjustments, the surcharges will average at €1,278/ton for June. The surcharge for the product during February was €1,273/ton. However, its alloy surcharges for 316 grades will be lowered by €31/ton to €1,821/ton from €1,852/ton. The surcharge for 430 grades will be reduced by € 7/ton to €476/ton.
Meantime, Aperam has announced its alloy surcharges for its stainless steel products for the month of June this year. The surcharges for 304 grade stainless steel products will be €1,234/ton during Jun ’15. Similarly, the company’s surcharge on 316 grade flat products will be €1,766/ton in Jun ‘15. The June alloy surcharges for 430 grade stainless steel products will be €459/ton.
Also, Acciai Speciali Terni has announced to hike in alloy surcharges for 304 grade flat products. Terrni’s surcharge for Jun ’15 will be at €1,276/ton. The company has also decided to keep the alloy surcharges for 316 grade flat products at €1,823/ton and those of 430 grades at €479/ton during Jun ’15.
Other stainless steel makers in the country including Acerinox and ThyssenKrupp are soon expected to follow suit.
