Alcoa and Chevron have reached a natural gas supply agreement, which is expected to provide natural gas to an alumina refinery located in Western Australia. Chevron's Australian subsidiary recently announced that it will supply Alcoa with a total of 130 petajoules of natural gas under a ten-year contract, effective from 2028.
According to a statement from Chevron Australia, the supplied natural gas will come from its Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities, which have a daily capacity of 530 terajoules, and will also include production from the North West Shelf Joint Venture in Western Australia. Alcoa stated that this natural gas will be exclusively used for its alumina refinery in Western Australia.
