In March, the ISM manufacturing PMI fell to a new low of 46.3 in nearly three years. Market worries about the economy caused the U.S. dollar index to fall, and U.S. bond yields also fell simultaneously.

Precious metals quickly erased losses caused by the unexpected oil production cuts and rose further. COMEX gold futures closed above $2,000 for the first time in a year. COMEX gold closed at $2,001.4 per ounce, an increase of 0.74%.

COMEX silver futures were affected by the deteriorating outlook of the manufacturing industry, closing at $24.105 per ounce, down 0.54%.
