With the Federal Reserve likely to signal this week that its most aggressive cycle of rate hikes in decades is coming to an end, investors are betting heavily on a lower dollar.
According to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), hedge funds and other large speculators' net short positions betting that the U.S. dollar will fall against major rival currencies rose to more than 70,000 contracts as of April 25, the highest since June 2021.
