Ducon Infratechnologies Ltd. has secured a turnkey contract to supply and commission a Forced Cooling Network (FCN) system for the potlines of one of India’s largest single-site aluminium smelters, expanding its presence in the country’s aluminium production infrastructure.
Ducon announced the order on August 18, 2026, in a corporate filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange. The company did not disclose the name of the smelter or the value of the contract.
FCN system for smelting potlines
An FCN system helps manage heat generated during the aluminium smelting process. Aluminium is produced through electrolysis, which generates substantial heat in the potlines. The system uses forced air circulation to remove excess heat and maintain suitable thermal conditions around the pots.
The contract covers the project on a turnkey basis. Ducon will manufacture, test, package and transport the system. The scope also includes installation, commissioning and performance-guarantee testing. The company will provide specialised technical manpower during installation and commissioning.
Ducon’s aluminium industry presence
Ducon is an Indian EPC and industrial technology company. Its businesses include bulk material handling, alumina handling and air-pollution control systems.
The company has an established project base in India’s aluminium and alumina industry. Its customers and project references include major producers such as NALCO, Hindalco and Vedanta. Its installations include material-handling systems at Hindalco’s Aditya Aluminium facility in Odisha.
The latest order adds a specialised smelter-support system to Ducon’s existing portfolio in the aluminium sector.
Previous orders from aluminium producers
Ducon has worked with major aluminium and alumina producers for several years.
On March 17, 2021, the company received a Letter of Intent from Vedanta Ltd. for an alumina handling system at its Lanjigarh refinery in Odisha. The scope covered design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning.
On February 2, 2022, Ducon announced projects worth ₹125–150 crore from NALCO. The projects covered alumina handling and wagon loading at Damanjodi and an alumina-handling package at Vizag Port.
The new FCN contract broadens Ducon’s role in the aluminium value chain. The company expects further opportunities from India’s aluminium and thermal-power capacity expansion, including alumina handling, fly-ash handling and environmental-management systems.
