On July 16, 2026, BHP released its 2026 Q2 production and sales report , which showed:
Production: In Q2 2026, Pilbara operations' iron ore production on a 100% basis was 74.84 million tonnes, up 7.3% QoQ and down 3.4% YoY.
Sales: BHP's total iron ore sales in Q4 were 75.105 million tonnes, up 12.1% QoQ and down 2.1% YoY. Of which, under BHP's reporting, fines sales were 44.416 million tonnes, and lump sales were 22.014 million tonnes, on a 100% basis.
For FY2026 (from July 2025 to June 2026), BHP's Western Australia iron ore operations' production on a 100% basis was 291 million tonnes, up 0.4% YoY, reaching a record high; total sales on a 100% basis were 288 million tonnes, up 0.2% YoY.
BHP expects its FY2027 (from July 2026 to June 2027) Western Australia iron ore production target to be between 286 million and 298 million tonnes, on a 100% basis.
