Recently, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, publicized the environmental impact assessment (EIA) document for Phase III of the Huicheng New Battery Materials Industrial Park project. This project will establish a production line capable of processing 17,000 mt of lithium battery scrap annually, along with supporting facilities to produce 7,000 mt of battery-grade lithium carbonate and other products, marking a further improvement in the local new energy industry chain. The investor is a leading enterprise in manganese-based battery materials in Guizhou Province, with a 60% market share. It boasts a national-level scientific research platform and directly supplies products to top-tier enterprises such as South Korea's new energy companies. Relying on the "one core, five zones" industrial layout, Tongren City has already gathered 17 new energy enterprises, forming a complete industry chain. This project will strengthen its position as the core area of Guizhou's new energy industry, promoting resource recycling and green transformation, and providing a demonstration for industrial upgrading in ethnic minority regions in western China.
