Hesai Technology, SAIC Volkswagen sign cooperation intent agreement

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 29, SAIC Volkswagen signed a cooperation intent agreement with Hesai Technology, a global leader in LiDAR development and manufacturing, at a ceremony held by the Jiading District Government in Shanghai. This collaboration highlights SAIC Volkswagen’s recognition of Hesai’s cutting-edge LiDAR products and technologies.

Hesai Technology, known for its innovative approach to integrating LiDAR manufacturing processes into its research and development pipeline, ensures high performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. The company excels in key LiDAR areas, including optics, mechanics, and electronics, and holds a strong global patent portfolio with over 1,700 patents and applications worldwide. By the second quarter of 2024, Hesai had delivered more than 470,000 sets of LiDAR products.

Earlier this year, in July, Hesai announced a major partnership with SAIC-General Motors (SAIC-GM), becoming a designated supplier of its AT series automotive-grade long-range LiDAR for future SAIC-GM models. This collaboration positions Hesai as a key digital ecosystem partner for SAIC-GM, working together to advance high-level autonomous driving systems and their adoption in the Chinese market.
