Geely Holding records highest-ever monthly auto sales in Sept. 2024

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group announced via its WeChat account that its monthly automobile sales volume hit a new high of 308,119 units in September 2024, growing 17.8% year on year.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") announced via its WeChat account that its monthly automobile sales volume hit a new high of 308,119 units in September 2024, growing 17.8% year on year (YoY).

Of the vehicles the group sold last month, 152,515 units were contributed by new energy vehicles (NEVs), representing a YoY surge of 59.6% and accounting for 49.5% of Geely Holding's overall auto sales in the month.

For the first nine months of 2024, Geely Holding recorded a cumulative sales volume of 2,319,664 vehicles. In this period, the group saw its total NEV sales reached 976,256 units and also reported a year-to-date sales volume of 907,578 vehicles for its overseas markets.

Geely Holding encompasses key automotive entities such as Geely Auto Group, Volvo Cars, PROTON, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, Polestar, LEVC (London EV Company), smart, RADAR, and Farizon Auto.

Geely Auto Group, comprising Geely (including Galaxy range), Lynk & Co, and ZEEKR brands, reported a sales volume of 201,949 units for the month of September, witnessing a YoY jump of 21%. In the month, its NEV sales amounted to 91,134 units, surging 75.8% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, its monthly export volume soared 51% from a year earlier to 39,183 vehicles.

As for the year-to-date performance, Geely Auto Group sold a total of 1,489,690 vehicles, marking a 32.1% year-on-year leap.

Volvo Cars reported a steady YoY increase of 1.3% in its global sales for September 2024, with 62,458 vehicles sold. A significant portion of this growth came from the NEV sales, which amounted to 30,174 units, marking an impressive 43% spike compared to the same period last year.

For the first three quarters of this year, Volvo Cars’global sales totaled 560,922 units, which rose 10.2% over a year earlier.

Moreover, PROTON logged a sales volume of 11,269 vehicles last month, resulting in a year-to-date volume of 112,758 units.
