According to SMM, Indonesian President Joko Widodo attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a $1.4 billion copper smelting plant owned by Amman Mineral Internasional in Nusa Tenggara Province. He also expressed his hope that global customers would turn to Indonesia for copper products. The smelting plant has a copper concentrate processing capacity of 900,000 tons per year. Amman Mineral stated that the smelting plant is expected to start producing cathode copper by the end of this year.
