Beijing city plans to include autonomous vehicles in ride-hailing services

The city of Beijing is set to legislate autonomous vehicle operation. The city plans to allow autonomous cars for public transportation, ride-hailing, and car rentals, addressing key issues to provide clear regulations for Level 3 and above autonomous vehicles.

BYD puts 2025 Dolphin BEV model onto market, starting at 998,000 yuan

On July 8, Chinese new energy vehicle maker BYD officially put the 2025 Dolphin all-electric vehicle model onto the market. Priced between 99,800 yuan and 129,800 yuan, the 2025 Dolphin offers enhanced features and improved range without an increase in price.

Cumulative deliveries of Li Auto’s Li L7 surpass 200,000 units

On July 8, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Li Auto announced that deliveries of its Li L7 SUV has surpassed 200,000 units in just 16 months.

SAIC Motor faces 25.92% YoY drop in June auto sales

In June, SAIC Motor sold a total of 300,545 vehicles, marking a year-on-year drop of 25.92%. Of the vehicles sold in the past month, 93,422 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), up 8.8% from a year ago, according to the company’s report.

Desay SV breaks ground on new smart factory in Spain

On July 5, Chinese smart automotive solution supplier Desay SV held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new smart factory in Linares, Andalusia, Spain. The factory is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and will begin supplying products in the fields of smart cockpits and smart driving to customers in 2026.

AutoX’s RoboTaxis allowed for unmanned passenger transport service in Shanghai

On July 4, during the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), autonomous driving tech firm AutoX's RoboTaxi received Shanghai's first fully unmanned passenger transport permit, marking another significant achievement after obtaining Shanghai's initial fully driverless road test license in 2023.
