【Xingyuan Material and Thai Polyacid Launch New Generation of Aramid-Coated Separators】

On the morning of April 28th, Xingyuan Material, together with the coating material giant Thai Polyacid, jointly launched the new generation of SafeBM aramid-coated separators at their global new product launch event. It is understood that this separator uses the high-performance fiber material aramid as the main coating material, representing a new generation of heat-resistant high polymer coating technology following the ceramic coating and PVDF coating routes. The aramid material combines high structural strength, heat resistance, and low density. When used as a coating, compared to traditional ceramic-coated separators, the coated film has a 50% reduction in surface density, a 60% increase in puncture strength, nearly 30% improvement in insulation, and the rupture temperature is also increased from 153°C to around 260°C. Additionally, this coated film shows significant improvements in electrolyte wettability and liquid retention rate. Once used in battery manufacturing, it can effectively enhance the battery's safety performance, high and low temperature discharge capabilities, and cycle life.
