Lithium carbonate prices dip on sluggish market sentiment post-Chinese New Year. Some companies resume production, but downstream demand struggles.

On February 21st, SMM reports a decrease in lithium carbonate prices. The battery-grade lithium carbonate index is approximately $15,083/ton, down $182/ton from the previous working day. The average price for battery-grade lithium carbonate is approximately $15,276/ton, showing a decrease of $600/ton. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices are in the range of $13,530-$14,095/ton, with an average of $13,960/ton, reflecting a drop of $650/ton. Market sentiment for lithium salt remains subdued, with some companies resuming production gradually after the Chinese New Year break, while others continue to hold prices or make slight adjustments. Downstream enterprises, such as cathode manufacturers, have been replenishing their stocks at lower prices, causing a downward shift in overall transaction prices.
