"France launches 2025 offshore wind power tender, reaching 45 gigawatts by 2050
The French Maritime Economy conference was held in Nantes on November 28, and French President Macron stated that the government will vigorously develop offshore wind power. A large-scale tender for offshore wind power plants will be conducted in 2025, with 10 planned parks expected to generate electricity from 2030 to 2035, reaching an estimated capacity of 10 gigawatts, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 1 million households.
France currently has installed or planned offshore wind power capacity of 8 gigawatts, with a target of reaching 45 gigawatts by 2050, making offshore wind power the second largest source of electricity production after nuclear power."
