From the analysis of overall data, rigid demand in the ESS sector remained stable in June. The auto sales boom driven by earlier auto shows gradually faded, and the penetration rate of NEVs in the market remained stable. Currently, consumer momentum in the end-use market is insufficient, and it is expected that the increase in end-use demand will be relatively limited. In terms of market transactions, the market remained sluggish in June, with some second-life battery producers largely refraining from building up inventory and maintaining a just-in-time procurement strategy.

Recycling: This week, following the announcement of import and export restrictions in the DRC, cobalt sulphate prices continued to rise, nickel sulphate prices remained basically stable, and lithium carbonate prices rebounded slightly, fluctuating in operation. This week, the coefficients for ternary and LCO black mass remained unchanged, with a slight increase in the cobalt coefficient and a continuous decline in the lithium coefficient. Currently, the prices per % lithium for LFP pole piece black mass range from 2,150 to 2,300 yuan/mtu, and for LFP battery black mass, they range from 1,950 to 2,100 yuan/mtu.

The 450,000 mt/year LFP precursor project is located in Bai'anying Village, Xicheng Subdistrict, Kaiyang County, Guiyang City. With a total investment of 4 billion yuan, the project will be constructed in phases. The project construction unit is Guizhou Anda New Energy Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anda Technology (830809).

Recently, Farasis Energy stated at an investor relations event, "Farasis Energy's all-solid-state battery, with an energy density as high as 400Wh/kg to 500Wh/kg, is currently progressing smoothly in R&D. Among them, the 60Ah sulphide all-solid-state battery is planned for small-batch delivery to strategic partners by the end of 2025." It is reported that in the field of semi-solid-state batteries, Farasis Energy has accumulated sufficient technical expertise and mass production experience, and will further focus on accelerating the commercialization of its products in the future.

In early June, China Battery News reported that PetroChina Jichai Power Equipment had initiated a new round of framework procurement for energy storage equipment, purchasing 1.2 GWh of DC-side energy storage systems. It explicitly required the systems to have a 0.25P grid-forming capability and use LFP battery cells with a capacity of no less than 314 Ah. The tender's price ceiling was as low as 0.363 yuan/Wh. Recently, the project announced the winning bid result, with Ganfeng LiEnergy winning the bid at a unit price of 0.345 yuan/Wh. From the scope of the tender, in addition to containers, EMS, and fire protection systems, the main equipment on the DC side was included in this procurement. The first batch of 0.8 GWh products was to be delivered by June 30, and the remaining 0.4 GWh products were to be delivered according to the bid inviter's required timeline.

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) recently launched a comprehensive national spot check on product quality for 2025, targeting 164 types of products. Samples will be extensively collected from production, circulation, and platforms, totaling over 16,000 batches. It is reported that this spot check adopts a problem-oriented approach, further emphasizing products related to people's livelihood. The number of batches for spot checks on products such as power banks (portable power supplies), e-bikes, and gas appliances has significantly increased. To ensure the healthy and orderly development of emerging industries, power batteries, drones, PV modules, and EV charging piles have also been included in the scope of this spot check.

On June 20, 2025, the Shanghai Municipal Government, China Kangfu, and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. officially signed a cooperation agreement, and the construction of a GWh-level Energy Storage System (ESS) power station and supporting industrial park, with a total investment of approximately 4 billion yuan, is expected to commence soon.
