DMC Output Increased In May As Some Domestic DMC Plants Resumed Production After Maintenance

SMM data showed that China’s DMC output was 166,300 mt in May, up 5.12% MoM. The average operating rate of the industry in May was 74.04%. The increase in output in May was mainly due to the end of the maintenance and production resumption of some enterprises.

SMM analyses that the reason for the increase in output is mainly due to the end of the maintenance and production resumption of some domestic DMC enterprises in May.

Although some enterprises have continuously delayed production restarts in May due to the impact from the current cost and profit, the overall output reduction was smaller than the increase in output caused by production resumption. Therefore, he overall output grew.
