The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to April, the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size across China were 2 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 20.6%.
Among the 41 major industrial sectors, the total profit of 13 industries increased year-on-year, the total profit of 1 industry remained flat, and the total profit of 27 industries declined.
The total profit of general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 20.7%, that of the special equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 7.4%, that of the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 2.5%, that of the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 30.1%, and that of the instrument manufacturing industry increased by 9.6%.
