Chilean miner Antofagasta Minerals is planning new surface and underground exploration at the Cachorro copper project in the Antofagasta region in the north of the country. The environmental impact report received by the EIA shows that the $360 million project includes the construction of 1,044 drilling platforms and 8,300 meters of roadways.
The document states that the purpose is to understand the characteristics of the deposit, estimate reserves and ultimately develop a mining plan.
