The HSBC Reserve Management Trends Survey showed that a majority of reserve managers surveyed ranked geopolitical risk as one of their top concerns, second only to high inflation.
More than 40 percent of respondents cited geo-location risk as one of the top risk factors, compared with 23 percent in last year's survey.
About a third of respondents have changed or plan to change the assets they buy due to heightened geo-risks such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A recent annual survey of 83 central banks found that more than two-thirds of respondents believe that global central banks will continue to increase their gold holdings in 2023. These 83 central banks manage a total of $7 trillion in foreign exchange assets.
