SHANGHAI, Jan 19 (SMM) - As the Chinese New Year approaches, the domestic alumina prices stabilised Due to the cold weather and approaching Chinese New Year, logistics services were halted and the delivery of finished products was blocked. In addition, affected by the insufficient supply of natural gas and the prevention and control of air pollution, the limited capacity of alumina plants in north China led to the decline in the output.

According to a transaction on January 17, 30,000 mt of Brazil alumina was sold at $390/mt on FOB basis, up $10/mt from January 9.
