SHANGHAI, Aug 29 (SMM) - China's total exports of wrought manganese, manganese products, unwrought manganese, shredded scrap, and powder stood at 30,900 mt in July, down 9% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year, according to SMM statistics. Export volume of unwrought manganese, shredded scrap, and powder stood at 29,200 mt, down 5% MoM and 13% YoY, and that of wrought manganese and manganese products recorded 1,600 mt, down 48% on the month, but up 46% on the year.

The main reasons for the decline in the export volume are the backlog of goods at overseas ports and the weak demand for EMM.

China’s total imports of wrought manganese, manganese products, unwrought manganese, shredded scrap, and powder stood at 3,518 mt in July, up 241% month-on-month. Import volume of unwrought manganese, shredded scrap, and powder was 3,500.22 mt, up 250% on the month, and that of wrought manganese and manganese products recorded 18 mt, down 45% MoM.

The increase in imports mainly comes from Indonesia, with an import volume of 3,500 mt, which is supervised in the bonded area.
