SHANGHAI, July13 (SMM) - The high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia was quoted at 8,700--8,900 yuan/mt (Cr50%) today, flat from the previous trading day. Although ferrochrome plants suffered losses, some plants still shipped at low prices because downstream traders were cautious about picking up goods amid the bearish market and wait-and-see sentiment. The expected amount of chrome ore arriving at ports was still low, and the miners still held the prices firm. Therefore, the prices of chrome ore may fall sharply in the short term.
