SHANGHAI, Jun 22 (SMM) – Silicon metal prices were stable today. The prices of #553 silicon without oxygen and with oxygen stood at 18,000-18,200 yuan/mt and 18,800-19,000 yuan/mt respectively at Huangpugang Port, and the prices of #421 silicon were 20,000-20,300 yuan/mt.
On the supply side, silicon plants in Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province resumed and ramped up the production in June, while the newly commissioned capacities started to yield output in the second half of this month. Silicon metal market tended to stabilise after strong hikes recently, and the downstream market also cooled down a little bit, and made inquiries only. The traders, on the other hand, mainly digested their stocks and sold based on the orders received, and were less interest in restocking. The market was quiet as a whole.
