World Steel Association: Global crude steel production fell 5.1% YoY in April

SHANGHAI, May 26(SMM) - In April 2022, the crude steel output of the 64 countries included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 162.7 million mt, a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%.

SHANGHAI, May 26 (SMM) - In April 2022, the crude steel output of the 64 countries included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 162.7 million mt, a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%.

Among them, crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million mt, down 5.4% year-on-year; crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 121.4 million mt, down 4.0% year-on-year; crude steel production in EU (27) was 12.3 million mt, down 5.4% year-on-year %; crude steel production in other European countries was 4.2 million mt, up 0.5% year-on-year; crude steel production in the Middle East was 3.3 million mt, down 14.5% year-on-year; North American crude steel production was 9.4 million mt, down 5.1% year-on-year; crude steel production in Russia,  other countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Ukraine was 7.3 million mt, down 18.4% year-on-year; the crude steel output of South America was 3.6 million mt, down 4.8% year-on-year.
