China Rebar Stocks Down 1.3% on Week

The total inventory of rebar across social warehouses and steel makers in China stood at 11.70 million mt as of Thursday May 12, down 153,800 mt or 1.3% on the week, and up 5.4% from the same period last year.

SHANGHAI, May 12 (SMM) – The total inventory of rebar across social warehouses and steel makers in China stood at 11.70 million mt as of Thursday May 12, down 153,800 mt or 1.3% on the week, and up 5.4% from the same period last year.

The inventory across social warehouses was 7.97 million mt, a decrease of 357,100 mt or 4.29% on the week, and a drop of 2.7% on the year.

The in-plant inventory stood at 3.73 million mt, up 202,200 mt or 5.8% on the week, and up 28.1% on the year.

Affected by macro factors such as the US Federl Reserve’s raising interest rate and the shrinking balance sheet, LME nickel maintained a decline trend this week and fell below $30,000.
