Jiangsu Yonggang Group successfully hot tested 1200mm super round billet continuous caster!

On March 26, 2022, in the Electric Furnace Plant of Yonggang Group, the 4-flow super-large round billet caster designed and supplied by Danieli cast the cross section of 1200mm. The hot test was successful and four furnaces were continuously cast. The whole production adopts full-line automatic mode, including automatic pouring.

This is after Danieli successfully upgraded the original 900mm round billet caster of Yonggang Group in 2016, and once again designed and supplied a brand-new super round billet continuous caster for Yonggang Group.

In the field of extra-large round billet, Danieli Group has been committed to the research and development of casting process and equipment. In 2007, Danieli Group put into production the S700 round billet continuous caster at its ABS Special Steel Plant, and after the transformation in 2014, it produced the billet with the largest cross-section in the world at that time. In addition to Yonggang, Danieli round billet caster has many achievements in China, such as Baosteel, Maanshan Iron and Steel Special Steel, Jianlong Group, Laigang Special Steel, Huai Steel Special Steel and so on.

The new continuous caster provided by Danieli for the Electric Furnace Plant of Yonggang Group can be cast in the range of "600mm -" 1200 mm. Its core equipment is manufactured and processed by Danieli's factory in Changshu, China. The continuous caster is equipped with multi-stage electromagnetic stirring, using Danieli's unique round billet process know-how and complete advanced Danieli automation control system and model to ensure excellent final product quality.

Even under the current restrictions of epidemic control travel, relying on Danieli China's equipment manufacturing capacity, efficient project management, professional field team, and the strong support of Yonggang Group, the project teams of both sides overcome many difficulties and successfully completed the contract delivery time and hot test plan. The successful commissioning of the super-large round billet caster proves once again that Danieli is a reliable partner for Yonggang Group.
