China Merchants Steamship announced that on March 31, 2022, the company, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, signed a "ship building agreement" for two 175000 cubic meters of LNG transport ships in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and Dalian through a wholly-owned subsidiary, with a total shipbuilding cost of 380 million US dollars. At the same time, the buyer's option order for two 175000 cubic meter LNG transport ships was signed (the buyer has the right to choose whether to build the agreed ship at the agreed price within a certain period of time). The cost of each of the two selected ships is US $200 million.
