A senior official from Indonesia's Ministry of Energy said on Thursday that Indonesia's delay in the issuance of tin export licenses was due to internal process problems and that there was no timetable for when the issue would be resolved.

Ridwan Djamaluddin, director of the Minerals and Coal Bureau of the Ministry of Energy, said at a press conference that there were delays involving companies that met the requirements and could be certified by the authorities for their mineral reserves and resources.

Ridwan says the government is trying to solve the problem.

Indonesia is the second largest tin producer in the world.
